DMCA / Takedown Notice
We respect the rights of game developers and publishers. Because lecom.uk embeds games from licensed distribution platforms rather than hosting them, the fastest route to removing a game is usually the platform that supplies it — but we will act on a valid notice sent to us as well, and we will remove a title from the index while a claim is being looked at.
Where to send it
Email dmca@lecom.uk with the subject line “Takedown notice”. This address handles notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act and equivalent UK/EU complaints.
What a valid notice must contain
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed — for a game, its name, the developer/publisher, and the platform that distributes it.
- The exact URL on lecom.uk where the material appears (for example
https://lecom.uk/game/example-slug/). - Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may be returned with a request for the missing information, which delays removal.
What we do next
- We acknowledge the notice by email, normally within 2 business days.
- The identified game page is removed from the site and from
sitemap.xml, or set to noindex, while the claim is assessed. - We check the licence position with the distribution platform that supplies the embed, since the platform — not this site — holds the distribution rights.
- We confirm the outcome to you. If the claim is upheld, the title stays out of the index permanently. If it is resolved with the platform, the title may return.
Counter-notice
If you believe your game was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must identify the removed material and its previous URL, state your name and contact details, state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where the site operator is established, and be signed. We may restore the material if the original complainant does not pursue the claim.
Repeat infringement
Titles from a platform or developer that receive repeated upheld notices are excluded from the index. Because games are licensed through distribution platforms, we also report repeated problems to the platform's own rights process.
Misrepresentation
Please note that knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a takedown notice or counter-notice can create liability for damages, including costs and legal fees, under the DMCA and equivalent rules. If you are unsure whether you hold the rights, contact the developer or the distribution platform first.
